SKILLS ACQUISITION SERIES - (STEP-BY-STEP PRODUCTION OF PERFUMED LAUNDRY BLEACH)
We want to begin our skills acquisition series with this step by step guide on how to produce High quality bleach. We encourage people to take up this business either as full time or part time. Bleach production can be done right within the confines of your house. And the raw materials are relatively cheap. Hence , the profit margin is very high. To be very candid, this is a very hidden area where a lot of people are yet to discover.
The raw materials can be sourced locally, it can be bought from chemical shops around you. Bleach production business does not require much equipment. The mixing can be done with your hand using a stick.. The packaging rubbers can be bought at very cheap rates and the market in Nigeria is very large as a lot of homes are always on the look out for quality bleach. Our formulations can compete with the standards requirements for bleach produced any where
Raw materials REQUIREMENTS:
1. Caustic soda – This is the wetting agent
2. Soda ash – It helps to soften water and also boost cleaning power
3. Sodium hypochlorite – It is the bleaching agent that removes stains from materials
4. Water - It helps to put all the materials in solution for easy use
You can do the mixing manually. Just get a clean stick. But a mixer at least a hand held mixer will be needed in due course when your business has expand.
Formulation for 100 litres of bleach:
1. Water - 80kg
2. Caustic soda - 1kg
3. Soda ash – powder - 5kg
4. Sodium hypochlorite - 15kg
5. Perfume - 0.3 kg to 0.5kg depending on the extent of scent you desire
STEPS FOR PRODUCTION OF 100LITRES OF PERFUMED BLEACH:
1. Measure and weigh out all the required raw materials in separate containers with name tag on each
2. Fill the mixer with water
3. Pour the caustic soda gradually and stir
4. Add the soda ash. Keep stirring the mixture
5. Add sodium Hypochlorite and blend thoroughly until a homogenous mixture is achieved
6. Cover and keep the mixture solution for twenty four hours
7. After 24 hours, the liquid will be clearly separated from suspended particles
8. Remove/decant/pour away the cleared liquid on top
9. Add perfume and mix to blend well till homogenous mixture is achieved.
10. When okay, pack as required by the market for sale/usage.
STEPS FOR PRODUCTION OF 100LITRES OF ALL COLOUR FABRICS STAINS/SPOTS REMOVER/LAUNDRY BLEACH:
This is a stain remover though bleach that can remove stains and spots not just on white fabrics alone but also on all coloured fabrics without damaging the colour of the fabric in wash.
FORMULATION for 100 litres production:
1. Water -- 80kg to 100kg
2. Chlorine - 4kg
3. Sodium Bicarbonate - 1kg
4. Soda Ash - 1kg
5. Perfume - 0.3kg to 0.5kg
Production steps:
1. Measure and weigh out all the required raw materials in separate containers with name tag on each
2. Add the chlorine and stir
3. Add Sodium Bicarbonate
4. Add soda ash. Blend thoroughly till a homogenous mixture is achieved.
5. Cover and keep the mixture solution for twenty four hours
6. After 24 hours, the liquid will be clearly separated from suspended particles
7. Remove/decant/pour away the cleared liquid on top
8. Add perfume and mix to blend well till homogenous mixture is achieved.
9. When okay, pack as required by the market for sale/usage.
The above formulations ratios can rival the top players in the bleach production industry. Start up your home production of high quality standard bleach today. To produce small batches like 10 litres, resize based on the ratios. i.e For 10 litres production use 8kg to 10kg of water. The same is applicable for other ingredients.
