Federal Government bans high heel shoes
The Federal Government has issued an order banning private establishments from demanding female employees to wear high-heeled shoes at work.
The Federal Government of the Philippines, through its labour department, on Friday, outlawed the mandatory putting on of high heeled shoes by female employees.
A statement by a spokesman for the Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP), Alan Tanjusay indicates that Philippines is the first country in Asia to outlaw the compulsory wearing of high heels in the workplace.
