I kidnapped people to raise money for My Father's burial - Arrested kidnapper

The police in Anambra state has arrested one Chibuike and his gang in Anambra state. The gang had within the past two months kidnapped 10 people in Anambra and Imo states. Most notable is the kidnapping of one Chigozie Ekwegbara and his two sisters with their Toyota SUV Highlander. Reports have it that Chigozie paid a ransom of about 2million Naira for his release but his SUV Highlander has not been recovered.

Chibuike was arrested alongside 2 of his gang members.

The SARS commander in-charge of Anambra state Supol Nse Ikpe told reporters that the SUV Highlander is yet to be recovered from Car snatching syndicates in Aba.

Chibuike confessed to the crime saying that he went into kidnapping in order to raise money for his father's burial...

“I have kidnapped over 10 victims and used the ransom collected, to bury my late father. We initially demanded N10m because I needed the money to also bury my uncle in Abia state.” Okoroafor who hails from Imo State, further revealed that he was wearing Chigozie’s gold chain when he was arrested". Chibuike said.
