At least 18 people have were killed in Rijana , a village located along the kaduna-Abuja express way, in kaduna state by kidnappers.
Acoording to a community leader
Abdulsalam Abubakar, the victims were killed because they gave information about the kidnappers to the security agencies.
This was disclosed during the visit of the minister of interior Abdulrahaman Dambazau to the village. The community leader showered blames on the security agencies most espacially the police for the high rate of kidnapping in the area. He also alleged that the police disclosed information about the whistle blowers to the kidnappars.

There was one of us who was very brave and outspoken. He was stabbed to death the following day after giving the names of suspected kidnappers to the police. The son of the village head, solomon, yakubu, sani, a gentle man Mallam Abdulrahman and others have
All been stabbed to death after giving information to the police in the Area.There are bad eggs in the police!. They convey the information we give to them to the criminals. There are many police check points here, but they have not arrested a fowl since the kidnapping and robbery spree erupted in this community" the man said.
The minister, assured that the government will make sure that the criminals are brought to book. He highlighted that his visit to te community was for fact finding and that more security operatives will soon be posted to the area.
