Nigerian Immigration Service set to recruit only 1,112 officers
Muhammad Babandede, The Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has revealed that only 1,112 officers will be recruited during the current recruitment exercise by the service.
It can be recalled that the last recruitment exercise conducted by the service in 2014 ended in controversy as many applicants lost their lives in the process. He intimated that the ongoing recruitment exercise is to supplement and correct the impasse in 2014 recruitment where 2000 applicants were recruited controversially. The comptroller general of the service hinted that 2,000 persons were controversially employed and offered appointment letters without following due process in the recruitment exercise. Hence, only 888 were absorbed after screening while the remaining 1,112 persons were laid off. "The ongoing recruitment exercise is to fill up for the 1,112 persons that were laid off by the service". He saidFollow @freshgossipsng
