LASU offers appointment to 80 of her students while still in school

Lagos State University has given part-time appointment to more than 80 students to kick-start her work-study project which is aimed at empowering the students.

The University Librarian, Dr Oduwole Adebanbo, told news reporters that the initiative was geared towards adding value to her students by developing their employability skills and work experience. He added that the school is commited to giving more students the chance to make money while still schooling, and that students will laudable academic perfomance will be retained as staff in the school. He then hinted that the students have been deployed to work in the Library on part-time basis.

The president LASU students government Kappo Samuel emphasized that the feat is borne out of the cordial relationship and understanding between the school management and the students. He hinted that the programme will peak only when about 500 students have been given appointments. He commended the efforts of the school authority and added that the selection process was very transparent and that people were chosen on merit.
They will be paid 10k monthly and they will only work on saturdays and sundays.
