Biblical scholar claims story of Jesus Christ is Fake and was fabricated by Romans to control the poor

Joseph Atwill claims that the story of Jesus Christ is not real.

On his blog post, Atwill a controversial IS Bible scholar claims that the Romans fabricated the story of Jesus Christ as a messiah so that they would be able to control the poor.

He asserted that the whole story was fabricated as a form of psychological war fare to control the poor.
He writes: "Christianity may be considered a religion, but it was actually developed and used as a system of mind control to produce slaves that believed God decreed their slavery.” Biblical scholar Joseph Atwill.
He laid emphasis on Bible portions like the one that says one should not react when punished, but should rather persevere by giving out the other side of the cheek to be slapped. He claims that such bible verses were fabricated to control and pacify slaves.

Atwill argues that restive Jewish sects in Palestine were waiting for their pre-ordained messianic "warrior," which implied that they were ready to fight against oppression. The Roman Empire therefore, according to Atwill, fabricated the "peaceful messiah" theory to compete with the "warrior messiah" belief. The scholar writes: "Instead of inspiring warfare, this Messiah urged turn-the-other-cheek pacifism and encouraged Jews to 'give onto Caesar' and pay their taxes to Rome." Atwill is also the author of Caesar's Messiah: The Roman Conspiracy to Invent Jesus, a book that contains similar controversial claims. Watch Atwill discuss his claims in the video below
