(photos) 12 hours rain displaces hundreds of residents in Owerri

A heavy down pour that lasted for about 12 hours has caused severe flooding in the city of owerri, Imo state. The areas mostly affected include the Federal Housing Estate at Chukwuma Nwoha road, old CBN quarters at Egbu road as well as Federal Housing World Bank Estate.

It can be recalled that the relevant government agencies had earlier warned the populace that they should prepare for heavy flooding this year and
various states in the country have already witnessed various degrees of rainfall and flooding this year.

This was the first major rainfall in Imo state this year.
