1. Work on your Managerial skills: Over 50% of problems in businesses are caused by the entreprenuers themselves through their mistakes and short comings. An incompetent manager can never prune and run a successful business enterprise. Endeavour to achieve full control environment in your enterprise, ethics and norms of the enterprise should be upheld and it should be well communicated to the staff, be an example for your staff so you can command their respect, and work on the feed back mechanisms.

2. Keep accurate financial records: These days, most mall scale business owners do not care to keep financial records. They end up not knowing the cash flow and the general financial status of the business. A business without financial records is at risk of collapsing.

3. Place your self on a monthly salary: It is not good to Mix up every cash that comes into the business. It is very pertinent for all entreprenuers to place their selves on a salary. This will go a long way in reducing excess spending on the path of the business owner and place him on a very tight but strict budget. This will go a long way in strengthening the financial base of the enterprise.

4. Separate your personal account from business account: This is also very important. You have to ensure that all cash received are paid into the business account. Ensure that you separate the business account from your personal account. Many small scale entreprenuers hardly take this into consideration. They spend any cash they have at hand and they will not notice when they start spending the business money. Mind you it is not a crime for you to borrow money from the business if you have any pressing need but you must ensure that you pay it back for the growth of your enterprise.

5. Gain adequate training and experience before start up: An entreprenuer must ensure that he has experience in the business he wants to start. Some rush into a business without gaining enough experience to succeed. That ia why apprentiship or internship is very important. An entreprenuer who served a master for sometime before atsrting up his own business will hardly fault in this as he would have gained enough experience during his apprentiship. It may even go a long way in giving him lots of customers even before starting.

6. Ensure that you have proper communication and feedback mechanisms: You have to put up structures for you to be able to ascertain what and how your customers feel about your product and services. Ensure that you communicate with them. With this, they can tell you about their needs and their perception for your business. This alone can go a long way in making you realise what to do inorder to satisfy your customers's needs.

7. Be innovative: Change is the only constant thing in life.Customers' needs follows this same trend by changing with time. What was very acceptable few years back may no longer be at the same level of acceptability today. To gain customer loyalty, your customers must derive value from your product and services. To keep your business healthy, you have to be very dynamic and innovative. Think and Research about what is trendy. It is innovation that sets the difference between what you do and that of your competitors.
